Talent Acquisition Manager

The rise and momentum of e-commerce is undeniable. In Europe alone, E-commerce revenues are projected to reach £442 billion by 2025. And this growth is mainly driven by small and medium e-commerce sellers. In the UK alone there are 200,000 online SMEs!

This growth is underpinned by the emergence of new platforms: It has never been easier to set up a web shop and start selling online, thanks to platforms such as WooCommerce, Shopify, Square Space, etc. And it has never been easier to get sales, with the help of marketplaces such as Amazon, Ebay, Etsy, etc. But when it comes to fulfilment… they struggle.

The existing offering of e-commerce logistics is very poor: current providers’ lack of technology is creating a transparency problem that is translated into low quality experience for consumers. On top of that they lack scale and flexibility to fulfil today e-commerce sellers’ needs. This shouldn’t be this way!

Enter Bezos. At, we are building the future of e-commerce logistics. Our one stop shop solution makes it super easy for sellers to manage their logistics, eliminating the hassle of managing storage, fulfillment, last mile delivery and returns. And we are doing it for SMEs!. Our mission is to help them grow by giving them access to the logistics services reserved until now only to big retailers. We do that by aggregating a large network of logistic services, and putting them all together under one technology layer and one service.

We have currently one of the biggest fulfilment networks in the UK, and soon expanding it into Europe. Thanks to Bezos technology and network, now e-commerce sellers have access to a scalable, flexible and affordable end to end solution, where they can put their e-commerce logistics in autopilot and let us take care of everything. 

Bezos was founded by Diego Lijtmaer and Vernon Tjon-Soei-Len, two seasoned technology executives with relevant experience and track record in the logistics industry.

Diego built the business development and logistics functions at Just Eat Plc (food delivery, FTSE 100), where he was responsible for building relationships with the global branded restaurant groups, and also in charge of designing and building the UK delivery operations (LinkedIn profile here).

Vernon was Director of Amazon Flex UK (part of Amazon’s Last Mile Product & Technology team), a crowdsourced last mile delivery solution with tens of thousands of drivers, enabling everyone with a vehicle and mobile phone to deliver packages for Amazon (LinkedIn profile here).

We are growing our team from 15 to 60+ and looking for an exceptional Talent Acquisition Manager to help us get there:
Someone that gets excited about the adventure of a startup and wants to build a world class billion dollar business. Someone that is hands on, solves problems, and gets his or her hands dirty in the execution.

Someone that is a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical skills, taking a data-driven approach to solve complex problems and programs. Your main task will be to identify, attract and hire the top talent we need to take Bezos to the next level.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with Senior Stakeholders, Hiring Managers across all business areas, to identify current and future hiring needs and develop solution-orientated strategies to ensure all requirements are proactively resourced, planned and managed effectively
  • Headhunt & source talent for the business ensuring we are bringing top talent into the business to drive the business agenda forward
  • Regular reporting and management of TA performance metrics using robust KPI data (Cost Per Hire, Time to Hire, Quality of Hire etc), to continuously improve the effectiveness of our processes and establish causes for unfavourable trends in the metrics and provide and implement root cause analysis and solutions
  • Ensure the recruitment process is efficient and technology enabled for the management of applicants and processing of candidate information to close recruitment gaps with the best candidates in the shortest time
  • Contribute (and come up with!) to Bezo’s HR strategy and recruitment of a diverse workforce by designing and implementing strategies aligned to the HR Strategy
  • Lead talent acquisition programmes from both a strategic and tactical level

Must have requirements

  • 2+ years experience in talent acquisition in a technology focused company with understanding of e-commerce, retail, supply chain or logistics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do, never-give-up attitude with excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working with different stakeholders, including product, engineering, operations, marketing, and business leaders to understand business needs
  • Highly organized, ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little to no guidance and tight deadlines
  • Refine HR processes and procedures and implement best practices.
