Business Operations Manager

2020 saw a seismic increase in e-commerce sales as COVID-19 restrictions expedited permanent changes in the way customers shop. We saw the rise in e-commerce before 2020 and this is why we created Bezos.ai. We believe that we can make a difference to companies who are selling online.

Bezos is a one-stop-shop solution for e-commerce logistics, where we make it super easy for sellers to manage their logistics and eliminate the hassle of storage, fulfillment, last mile delivery and returns, ultimately reducing their operational complexity and logistics costs. By outsourcing their logistics to us, they can focus on growing their business.  

We have grants from the UK government to make fulfilment more sustainable (green delivery, green packaging etc) and optimise supply chains by getting orders closer to customers. Reducing waste and emissions whilst improving the delivery options and speed for both sellers and customers.

We are looking for an exceptional Business Operations Manager: Someone that gets excited about the adventure of a startup and wants to work hard and learn how to build a world class billion dollar business. Someone that is hands on, solves problems, and gets his or her hands dirty in the execution. Someone that is a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced startup, coupled with strong analytical skills, taking a data-driven approach to solve complex problems and programs. A “can do” attitude is an absolute must, and candidates must demonstrate a superior track record of delivering results.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations to enable Bezos’ platform to work seamlessly for e-commerce sellers, including storage, fulfillment and delivering e-commerce orders
  • Develop and implement new processes to enable Bezos’ platform to work seamlessly for e-commerce sellers, including storage, fulfillment and delivering e-commerce orders
  • Work in partnership with external logistics service providers including warehouses and delivery companies
  • Lead delivery of all operational metrics across productivity, service quality and cost
  • Manage special projects, track progress and ensure timely execution of all plans
  • Work with the founders and executive team to identify opportunities and define operational requirements.

Must have requirements

  • 3+ years experience in an operational or programme management role in e-commerce, retail, logistics or manufacturing, with a strong technology aspect, ideally in a fast paced, high growth startup
  • Experience of operating in rapid and process-driven environments, including facing operational peaks
  • Demonstrate a strong track record of problem solving and solid analytical skill capability to look at and find solutions for a variety of operational challenges
  • Highly analytical, using data to explore problems, identify opportunities and assess benefits and impacts
  • Experience working cross-functionally with different stakeholders, including product, engineering, operations, marketing, and business leaders to enable fast decision-making and execution

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do, never-give-up attitude

Nice to have requirements

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement processes including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • Degree in engineering, mathematics, science or supply chain/logistics/manufacturing related discipline
